LUTHER'S SMALL CATECHISM
Question 172: "In what way is the believer freed from sin by the redemption of Christ?"
Answer:
1. The guilt and punishment of sin are removed from him.

GOD'S PROMISES
“I will guide you” (Psalm 25:9).
“I will work all to your good” (Romans 8:28).
“I will deliver you” (Psalm 50:15).
God’s promises are found in every book, chapter, and verse of His Word, and God’s Word bears forth that He keeps every one of His promises. As a Christian, God has promised to provide for you, protect you, be near you, forgive you, etc. He loves every believer as He loves His own dear Son, Jesus Christ. Therefore, God promises to work all things together for good to His people through His infinite plan and power. But how often do we forget God’s promises? How often, in the time of trouble, do we worry, fear, and wander from God's truth? Never forget, dear Christian, that God is sovereign; He has everything under His control. Have you forgotten God’s promises? Take time today to reflect on the promises of God in Scripture and apply them to your life and live with the knowledge that your Heavenly Father is watching out for you every moment of every day.
