CREEDS

Being a Reformed church, we find our roots in the great Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century.  More specifically, we hold to the great Biblical truths that mankind is hopelessly lost in tresspasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1-4) and deserves only God’s eternal wrath and punishment (Romans 3:23Romans 6:23).  However, in His grace and through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ, God has provided full and free redemption for a people who He has eternally chosen in His Son (John 6:37).  Their salvation is secured by the perfect righteousness and sin atoning death of the ONLY Savoir Jesus Christ and is received and enjoyed by true faith alone in Christ.

God irresistibly draws His people to Jesus Christ (John 6:44, John 6:65), the only Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5; John 14:6; Acts 4:12), by true faith through the power of His Word and Spirit, especially as that Word is preached (Romans 10:13-17).  God also preserves His people in their salvation through His Word (Romans 8:35-39; 1 Peter 1:5; Jude vs. 1), ultimately bringing them to the eternal glory of Heaven. We profess that we are saved only by God’s sovereign grace & mercy (Ephesians 2:4-9), which resides alone in Christ.

These Biblical truths are summarized in the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dordt which we hold as our confessional standards.
